Daikon Lighters

05/16/08 02:06

A daikon, pronounced die-cone, is a kind of Japanese radish. I don't want to say that daikons are popular here in Japan, but they're rockstars compared to the popularity of radishes back at home.

Big ups to my friend Taichi for finding these lighters. They're just hilarious, ineffable. They're bigger than your standard size cigarette lighter, and the bottom half is transparent. Inside are daikon figurines, which are free floating. Look closely and you'll see a fine attention to detail. "Lady Daikon" isn't just wearing a skirt, she's holding a little daikon of her own.
